Do you fancy a ride on the Wednesday following the Easter weekend? Then join us in Marple for the Icecream Wensdae .
The level crossing at Middlewood
The level crossing at Middlewood

With the schools still closed for the Easter break, reaching Marple for the 10am start should be relatively easy. We start from outside Marple library, with parking in the car park off Hollins Lane, next to the fire station. Or arrive by train at Marple or Rose Hill Stations.

Meet at Marple Memorial park (outside the library and near the public toilets) for a prompt 10am start. We've been asked not to park in the library carpark, as it's in use all day by library users as well as visitors to the nearby Day-care Centre. There is a handily placed car park on Hollins Lane, just next to the fire station, or free street parking around the recreation ground nearby. Don't be late as we leave at 10am sharp, but if you're early, you'll find some of us in nearby cafes, or perhaps Costa Coffee, having breakfast or just a quick cuppa.

The ride sets off from Marple through Middlewood, Wilmslow, Ashley, Bucklow Hill to reach Great Budworth. After lunch at the Icecream Farm cafe, we return through Plumley and Peover to Bollington and back to Marple. That last 10 miles or so can be a bit lumpy, but you can return along the Middlewood Way from Bollington if you wish.

The finish is at the Ring O'Bells, an excellent Robinsons pub, where sandwiches (included in the entry fee) will be served.

Please note that we can't handle entries on the line, as we are starting from a car park, but it's really easy to enter the event, either online or through the post.

There is nowhere to leave panniers, so what you bring goes with you on the ride.

This is a gentle ride to Great Budworth. If you want something more strenuous, you can instead ride the East Peak & Winnats Grimpeur 100 , which starts at the same time and place.
