An easy ride into Cheshire on quiet lanes. It start from Bijou Cafe in Cheadle (open Tuesday-Saturday) or anywhere else near Massie Street car park (free on Sundays). Call in on Bob at the Bijou, but remember - no loitering. The ride counts towards the
PARTY award
.
There is Pay and Display parking at Massie Street, free on Sundays (although that can change). For free parking, try
Abney Hall
car park.
The ride has an optional climb of Swiss Hill, a notorious cobbled climb in Alderley Edge. Can you get up without having to walk? There is an enticing cafe at the top behind the Wizard pub, if that makes a bit of an incentive. Once at the top the only way is down, a swooping tree-lined descent on Artists Lane. And don't worry, if you prefer to skip the climb (and descent), you can take the easier way along London Road to reach Nether Alderley.
The village cross at Nether Alderley.
