An incursion into Wales to the fine old town of Ruthin in Denbighshire. The outward journey gos through the heart of Chester using a cycle-friendly route, while the return from Ruthin has been tweaked and now avoids Wrexham town centre.
You approach Ruthin in the Vale of Clwyd from the spectacular Bwlch Penbarras, crossing the Clwydian range of mountains the 'easy' way, although the descent to Ruthin is 'interesting' enough that you really ought to stop if you want to admire the views.
This Perm can be ridden with the eBrevet. The Perm starts from Dean Row (between Stockport and Wilmslow) with parking available in a nearby layby. Head for Waverton, over the Cheshire Plain via Vale Royal, Daveham and Cotebrook. After all those quiet lanes, the ride goes into Chester City Centre using the canal tow path and alongside the River Dee.
The return journey goes through Llandegla to Bangor-is-y-coed before returning to England at Malpas. The finish at Woodford is reached using the well-used cyclists route through Church Minshull.
If you like this ride, you may wish to try another Perm from Dean Row.
