Several of us are riding the
Chirk 200 Perm
on Sunday March starting at 8am from the Park Lane car park in Poynton, so why not join us? Enter the event
here
, and you can ride any day (except the 27th of course).
Note the road closure at 41km at MIddlewich, where Warmingham Lane is closed, even to pedestrians and cyclists. Stay on A533, straight on at Cross Lane traffic lights, then left on Tewtton Lane (signed Warmingham). Turn right at the next T junction to get back on route.

This Perm can be ridden with the eBrevet. The Perm can be ridden on any date
except 27th March 2022
where it clashes with the Calendar version of this ride.
This is a long standing and popular spring classic. Start from Poynton on pleasant lanes through Bollington, Prestbury and Siddington. The Craft Centre Cafe at Poole is no longer available to us, but there is a useful early cafe (if you need it) at Church Minshull Marina.
The ride then crosses Cheshire on roads familiar with anyone who has ridden the Calendar version of this ride over the last 25 years, but we divert after Overton to take in the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a World Heritage Site.
A short climb on an otherwise flatish ride

After a welcome pause at the Caffe Wylfa in Chirk, the return is through Overton. I've re-routed from an 'agricultural' lane near Holly Bush, which is now in a dreadful condition, before continuing through Shocklach and Tilston to Tarporley control.
The final leg uses the popular 'Winsford bypass', a short off-road stretch to cross the River Weaver in Vale Royal.
If you like this ride, you may wish to try
another of the Wigley Perms from Poynton.
Wigley Perms
are also available with
starts from
Dean Row
,
Stalybridge
and
Uppermill
.
